The power of our choices

Life is about choices. With every choice, there is a consequence that accompanies that choice. For instance, being wise and heeding the advice of doctors and other specialists who are telling us to stay home due to the corona virus would be a wise choice which in turn will result in positive consequences. On the other hand, we could choose to not heed that advice and say the heck with it and go about our business maintaining the status quo. However, that could very well lead to disastrous consequences and cause major collateral damage because we are exposing ourselves to the deadly virus and in the process we could also get others sick if we get it but do not stay quarantined. Our choices matter. God has given us free will. We are not robots. We have the ability to choose life or choose death from a spiritual standpoint. We can choose to freely receive the free gift of eternal life found in Jesus Christ, or we can choose to reject it and spend an eternity forever separated from Him in a terrible, very real place called Hell. There are people all over the world who are choosing to take the necessary precautions to make sure that they stay physically safe from this deadly virus, but are we also making sure that we are doing everything possible to ensure that we are spiritually ready and prepared?

The Scripture I’m about to post is Revelation 20:11-15 which details the events of the Great White Throne judgment where all the lost who have ever lived will one day stand before God to be judged. Every single soul that will stand before the Lord on this horrific day to be cast into the Lake of Fire or the Second Death chose in their previous life on earth to reject the Savior and now, they reap the consequences of that.

Revelation 20:11-15:

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from His presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.“

I urge you, I plead with you, I beg you, come to faith in Jesus Christ if you have not done so. I love you so much and that is why I am telling you this. Come to know Him before it is too late! He died for you. He loves you. He rose from the dead and conquered the grave. I love you all and just as you are taking care of yourselves physically, please also be sure to take care of yourselves spiritually. Make good choices. The most important decision you will ever have to make is to either receive Jesus Christ or to reject Him. The choice is yours. Choose wisely dear friends. I love you all! Stay safe this weekend and keep the faith!
