He holds the future

It is important in these difficult times to remember who holds the future. God holds the future. He holds everything in His hands and although there is a lot that seems uncertain right now, we can cling to the fact that God holds the future. It is not up to us to try and figure out what the future will hold, but to trust the future to God. God has given us free will.

Free will is the ability to choose. We can choose to try and figure out the future or trust that He already has the future figured out. Now, let me make something very clear with that being said. Trusting the future to God does not mean that we do not plan. It does not mean that we do not make wise choices now so as not to end up in bad predicaments in the future. Trusting the future to God does mean however that we do not need to fret or worry because our Lord and Savior is in control of everything including the future. The next time that you find yourself worrying about the future, remember Philippians 4:6-7:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
