Thy will be done

God said in Isaiah 55:8-9:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

We are not going to always understand God’s ways and His thoughts. We can find ourselves struggling to understand. It can be hard to utter those four words… “Thy will be done” . I challenge you to go deeper with me on this… what if maybe there is a plan and a purpose behind why things are going the way they’re going. What if we made the choice to trust the One who knows better than we do what is best for us? This is a matter of the will. C.S. Lewis said this:

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, Thy will be done, and those to whom God says, in the end, Thy will be done. All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened.”

So, what is it going to be? Whose will are you going to follow? Your will, or His will? It is a matter of choice. What is your choice? I pray that you choose to follow His will even when at times it can be hard to understand. We think we know better than God sometimes, but the truth is we do not. We are His sheep; He is the Shepherd. Follow His will and submit to it today and every day, you will be glad you did! Have a blessed morning and week! God bless you!
