Our faith must guide our decisions

Does your faith in Jesus Christ guide your decisions? I have met Christians in my life who have voted for folks in politics whose views were about as far away from a biblical view as it gets and its head scratching to me. Former president Barack Obama said that his faith would not dictate his political decisions. Huh? What?! How can your faith not guide or have an impact on the political and economical decisions that you make especially as it relates to how you govern a nation? Folks, our faith in Jesus Christ must have an impact on the decisions that we make or do not make day in and day out. If it does not, what kind of faith is that? My faith guides my choices and my convictions, and I hope the same is true for you. If it is not, then why? Jesus does not want us to simply just believe and have faith in Him, but He desires for our faith in Him to guide our choices and convictions. We are to have a faith in action!

What you believe about abortion, is that guided by your faith in Christ? What you believe about homosexuality, is that guided by your faith in Christ? Again, our faith in Christ must have an impact on how we live and the decisions that we make. The Bible says in Isaiah 30:21- “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

God has told you and I that we are to walk in His way and His Word must guide our decisions. Let His Word saturate your minds and your hearts and be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. Stay the course. Do not compromise your convictions. Stand firm friends and do not succumb to the societal pressure that exists to compromise your convictions. Be strong! Have a blessed day!
