Having a heart of gratitude

Gratitude has been defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and return to kindness.” Are you thankful? Do you have a heart of gratitude? If we are not careful, our circumstances can define our gratitude, whether good or bad. Our gratitude is to be defined by what our Savior has done for us and who He is. We can be thankful because of who God is and what He has done for us. Having a heart of gratitude is the anecdote to a heart of bitterness. Bitterness is the enemy of gratitude. Think about this: Your attitude determines your gratitude. If we have the attitude and the mind of Christ, then we are much more likely to have hearts of gratitude. Consider Proverbs 4:23:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

If we are going to have hearts of gratitude, we must then guard our hearts against things like bitterness, jealously, envy, and the like. These are all spiritual cancers and we must guard against them. I want to challenge you in this post to drop the attitude, and to have a heart of gratitude! Be thankful. Give thanks to God every single day for who He is and for all He has done. I would like to challenge you to reply to this post with three things that you are grateful to God for along with the hashtag #Ichoosetobegrateful

Have a blessed day! Love you all.
